On July 2nd, 2009 Fred Phelps and his band of psychopaths (The Westborough Baptist Church) are coming up for a visit- They'll be picketing the following locations:

9:40 AM to 10:10 AM- The Norwegian Consulate in Minneapolis at 901 Marquette Avenue

10:15 AM to 10:45 AM- The Swedish Consulate in Minneapolis at 706 2nd Avenue

10:50 AM to 11:20 AM- Jewish Community Relations at 1212 North 12th Street

11:30 AM to 12 Noon- The Basilica of St. Mary at 88 North 17th Street

12:15 PM to 12:45 PM- Sabes Jewish Community Center at 4330 South Cedar Lake Road

01:00 PM to 01:30 PM- The Minneapolis Jewish Federation at 13100 Wayzata Boulevard, Minnetonka

05:15 PM to 06:00 PM- Temple Israel Minneapolis at 2324 Emerson Avenue South, Minneapolis

06:30 PM to 07:10 PM- Congregation Bais Yisroel at 4221 Sunset Boulevard, Minneapolis

I am posting this information NOT to get people to confront these assholes, but rather as a 'head's up' so that people know what the hell is going on. These are quintessential hatemongers and crackpots, and it is best to give them ZERO attention. But people should know that they're coming and plan accordingly.

Agreed: fore-warned is fore-armed.

The best way to deal with this cult is to hold very public parties far, FAR away from them. Rather than give THEM publicity, take the publicity for yourself and turn their presence into a fundraiser. For every hour they are in the state of Minnesota, get people to donate money to a worthy GLBT cause.

In truth, the rant they put out seems just a touch unhinged. As to the Norwegian Consulate, they rant on about them being 'heard hearted, stiff-necked and very evil, violent people'... Whatever that means. And the Swedish Consulate? It sounds like one of their fruitbats, an Ake Greene, got arrested when he caused trouble at the Consulate. At least that's what I can find out.

Whup. I found him via Google. He's a fruitbat preacher in Sweden, anti-gay in the extreme, who got nailed by Swedish antidiscrimination laws.

The best thing you can do to these people, is to leave them alone and not interact with them in any way.

A good portion of them are lawyers, and they're just itching to find a way to sue people for messing with them.
