Well. I got to work on time as usual, as did my coworker. He stated to me that he'd tried to call off-duty due to illness, but was told that there was nobody to cover the shift, and thus he came in. He went off to do his thing, and I took my post in Ops. Eventually, it was my time to do a round, and so he came back and I went off.

When I got back I stopped in the bathroom to answer the call of nature, and noticed an odor. "Gee," I thought. "It smells like puke in here!" I went back to the office, finding the coworker there flushed and visibly sick. "You okay?" I asked. He shook his head no and mumbled. "Did you throw up?" He nodded yes to this. "You're going home. I'll call someone." In the end, I got the supervisor in and he went home, hopefully to recover. I did all of his rounds on top of mine, and I may 'have' to work the overnight tonight if he doesn't make it in.

And we're being yelled at by the home office for too much overtime- notably, they haven't done fuck-all to fill the open shifts we've had for months, and they've not bothered to get more floats trained at the account.

I hate stupid people and their stupid policies. This is why when I call in sick, I say "I won't be in." Rather than "I don't think I can make it in tonight." I ain't giving them weasel-room anymore.
