This link leads to a .doc file with the 25,000 year history of my gameworld, Anuris. Its far-reaching but mostly general in scope, to give a feel for what things are like. :)

Still having trouble sleeping when I should unfortunately. I couldn't sleep today during the day, and ended up sleeping in the afternoon and evening uneasily. I did get a bit more campaign work done- I have a timeline of events from -25,000 years back to the starting point of the game! I'll probably post it as a .doc on my FA site, and link it here as I'll lose the tabs that give it the Date/Event format.

More and more I miss being able to type at work. It would help if I could get a printout of the stuff I've done so far, because then I could still build on things... O well. Maybe this week I'll see what I can do about new ink cartridges for the printer.

That's about it. I get to get ready to go to work shortly.

I have been REALLY lazy when it comes to posting this last week or so. So much for being daily! Anyway, here are the notes from the last run- I've been lazy with writing too.

Western Tales 03 Notes )

Went pretty well. I had a good turnout, and only a few of the invited didn't show up. The Cousin's subs went over well, and were decimated- I really was kinda afraid I'd have half of each or more left! Instead, I don't think there's even enough to make up one remaining. The emergency replacement soup (tm) was two packets of Shore Lunch Traditional Chicken Soup, with the required water and two pounds of cooked chicken added in- not bad, though I should have doctored it a bit- the flavor was a little bland.

What I got for gifts was absolutely not what I was expecting.

It was better!

The Dresden Files game Players book, The Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume Two, the Ray Harryhausen Legendary Monsters collection, a novel, 'The Native Star', which is a 'Supernatural Old West' novel which I'll read sometime in the next week likely (still re-reading the Otherworld books!) and a gift card for Barnes And Noble.

Oh- there was ONE more thing... Probably the most surprising: A bottle of scotch! Its a 12 year called The Balvenie, and its excellent.

The cheese went fast this year, and I think I'm figuring out which to NOT get- Swiss isn't all that popular, but the colby, muenster, monterey jack (and variations) and cheddar go fast. So I'll try to keep that in mind for the next party.

Now, its the day after of course. All but one serving bowl are clean, the long table is put away and the trash is out- I should probably vacuum at least in front- a lot of salt got tromped in. I need a bigger entryway!

As to the past few days where I have utterly failed to make daily posts, its been pretty quiet. Mostly it was a bit of cleaning and getting ready for the party. Last Sunday we played in the Wild West game again, and I've a pretty good chunk of notes from which to get the writeup done from. While there, I did get a gift from Scotty G. who couldn't attend the party- an electronic dartboard, which will probably go up in the front room where my pegasus pic is now. That'll get cleaned and relocated when I start some of the 'little' home improvement projects, like painting and the long-promised new carpet.

And that's about it. Happy Holidays to all one last time for 2010!

Not a lot happened today. However, at work last night I started another short story- its about my character in the Old West campaign, Jenny Pagan, and is sort of meant to be her 'origin' in a way. I've a few other shorts in progress as well- one as a background bit for the universe that Ranah is part of, and another that is just a bit of fluff currently named Hellride.

I work tonight and tomorrow night, and then its my weekend. My New Years plans are still not quite fixed, but it'll prolly include at least watching the ball drop on TV at [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain's place.

Last night at work I managed to get both the outstanding game writeups done. Woot! Of course, this came of it A) being a Sunday morning, B) Both writeups are on the short side, and C) I was there for more than 11 hours cos my relief did a no-call, no-show on me. Bleah. Anyway, here are the writeups!

Desert World 06- Brahma Has A Blast )

Western Tales 01- Reunions )
realsorien: (Default)
Bleah. I got about 2 hours and woke up. Oh well. In any case, all my orders have started showing up, and I kinda feel sorry for the mailman, who is gonna have a TON of books to get to me this coming week. My brother FINALLY got me a thin-and-pathetic list, but it'll help me with him and Sam- she wants a tea strainer for loose tea, so I'm gonna get her that, and a teapot, and a selection of loose teas. Hah! For Maggie I'll get the one thing he listed for her, and bug the hell out of him til he gives me more so I can keep the gifts even- they're sisters after all.

With those three dealt with, I have four left. One is a stop tomorrow and quick, and the other three... Yeesh. I've no idea really. I'll figure it out though. I hope.

As I think I mentioned before, the Xmas party is going to be on the 7th of January. I'm currently thinking some sub sandwiches from Cousins as the food- prolly a beef, italian combo and turkey for the selection. I may bother someone to bring soup, and I may also make chili to round things out. Of course the usual snackage will be available, and [livejournal.com profile] firecatmn has offered cookies. Who am I to refuse? ;)

In other matters, I've seriously started on the editing process of the novel. Simply put, this is gonna be a pain, and I'm going to have to do some pride-swallowing (like sword-swallowing, but it hurts more), to get things right. I have a final target of 100,000 words or more, and I'm currently at 67,400. A ways to go, I know. Especially since there's one entire chapter that has to be rewritten.

I've already got about 3 or 4 new paragraphs for the first chapter, so woot there. Later today I have gaming, and as far as I know its the Desert World AD&D game- Of course, given that what I got done for the writeups was for the Western game, and even THAT isn't done. It'll be a fun night either way.

Okay, here it is: the latest episode of the Traveller Campaign! The next run is the 7th Sea campaign. Oh Mr. GM Guy? I can't recall what Grandfather Droyne told us to tell his grandson when we were about to kill 'em- lemme know please and I'll add it in. Deyn has it recorded even if my notes and brain don't. :)

Traveller 21: Grandfather Clause )

And here it is again, with a fair bit of editing. :)

The Chamber, Edited )

Here's the latest- 6 pages of notes to 11 1/3 pages of writeup.

Its that time again... Actually, kinda past that time. But its as done as it'll get for now! Welcome to the 22nd writeup!

Well, I PLANNED to get started on the cookies last night... But during the Silver Mantis Strike Force I started not feeling too hot- mostly a relentless headache. I know what it was from- being low on sleep for two days! So I ended up crashing at about midnight or so... I woke at 7:30 AM today. O well, at least I'm feeling better!

Today is the Vanguard campaign, and tonight is day one of the last three before the con. I might not get as many cookies done as I wanted, as they have to be done and with [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain before I leave Wednesday morning, But I'll at least have some. :)

Oh I got a little more good news- due to how the new mortgage was calculated, I didn't have to pay November's payment either! So a lil extra cash in the bank.

Tomorrow is the next Buffy run, so its a busy weekend.
realsorien: (Default)
Okay, finally I've gotten to this writeup! One quick note though- for the sake of my sanity Scott G's character, previously unnamed and referred to by various indirect phrasings is now known by his character name, Djiel. However, in the game, none of the PCs know his name as of yet- the language barrier remains.

7th Sea 4- Circling Around )
realsorien: (Default)
I got it done last night. Not the longest writeup, but the game IS just starting. :)

7th Sea-Strange Hospitality )
realsorien: (Default)
I got it MOSTLY done. Still waiting on a bit for the end. ;)

7th Sea 2- Welcome to Freiburg! )
realsorien: (Default)
A new game! We're starting a 7th Seas campaign run by Ben, kind-of replacing the Werewolf campaign (which I STILL hope comes back someday...) Tonight was mostly character generation. We have three of the characters so far, as Mr. G. was not on hand tonight. The dramatis personae so far is as follows:

Illyana Kiralov- My character. She is an Ussuran shapechanger (read: Russian) who's family is fallen nobility from the vicinity of the Azov Forest. At the moment her family are amongst the Smerdi (merchant class, barely above the peasantry), operating in conjunction with several other small families as traders. Six months ago, Illyana found herself in a Tibesti caravan, with no idea how she got there- she made some friends, but what happened to get her there is still a mystery.

Prince Erik Gjeldheimsson- Scott L. A Scandanavian prince and runecaster, he has allowed the wanderlust to take him on journeys across the world to find adventure and fortune.

Zora of the Pirate Isles- Amy L. A pirate of the Rogue Isles, she has made her way north from her usual haunts to avoid the consequences of certain unnamed activities, and is currently without ship, crew or cargo.

A Princely Encounter )

Got it done last night. Here it is!

Traveller 10: A Military Bent )
realsorien: (Default)
As I said, I've got it done. I thought this would take til Friday!

Another starting note for the writeup: we've a new player (Ben) in the group, and this created a very different start for the run. Normally, we begin with a recap of the last run to refresh everyone as to what had gone before. THis time, we dove right in without the refresher, as Ben's character wouldn't have ANY idea what he was getting into! So right off I'm kinda rushed as I scramble to keep up with my notes!

Its all good though, and so now we return to the crew of the Ardith's Silhouette!

Traveller 8- Resolved Silences )
realsorien: (Default)
Its done!

Okay, before we get back into the tales of the crew of the Ardith's Silhouette, I have to mention this- between runs there was a bit of a disconnect, so there is a kind-of overlap in the events- the last run ended at the Psi Institute, the crew just having talked with Doctor Lanyier on several matters. In the next run, we started up back at the landing of the Silhouette after the joyride! So, At the start of this writeup I'm going to have to construct a suitable interfacing between the two- I'll not be inventing off the cuff, just trying to make a proper 'dovetail' between them. After all, both events were played out.

Traveller 7- Preconcieved Conceptions )
realsorien: (Default)
Well, Lady and Spaz seem to be adapting to life here, though Spaz is far more comfortable than Lady. Inadvertently I discovered Lady's 'magic' hiding place, after mom was over and looked for her. 30 seconds after she and dad left, Lady came out- I discovered that she has been hiding in a flap that makes a kind of 'hammock' inside the back of the brown chair! Useful to know. Hopefully she'll not find a NEW hiding spot.

They both go to the vet for their 'free' checkup tomorrow. They'll be getting their rabies vaccinations as well then. I think that Spaz may have a slight cold or an allergy- he's been sneezing. I'll have them check that out too.

On to other things- Not much else to report on. The writeup of the latest Traveller episode continues apace, and I may have it done sometime tonight. I'm at 10 pages and have just under half my notes to go. O.o
