FInally! An entry! This will be a general update cos I haven't posted in so bloody long!
Starting back in June... I attended a few days of Convergence, a local SF convention. I arrived on Thursday, and crashed out on the floor of
joshuwain's room until it was time for his Dresden Files game. The game was fun, the con was fun and I'll probably be there at least a little next year.
On Sunday night, the 3rd, me and
phineus went to fireworks at Lake Normandale. It was very nice (if INSANELY crowded), and for the first time in my life I actually saw lightning bugs. :)
Monday the fourth a bunch of us went to fireworks on the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis. Very crowded again, but I was SERIOUSLY jazzed. I got video of some of it, but I took the shots weird and I have to find a way to rotate the images for display. :P
joshuwain and his mom,
feezlekahn and
phineus were in attendance. Before the fireworks we had dinner at
joshuwain's place, and the chicken-hot dogs were fantastic.
The rest of July, August and September were fairly uneventful, but I'm probably forgetting stuff. If I recall later, I'll add another post! October though... Something did happen. I,
joshuwain,
ataramos and
feezlekahn went up to the North Shore of Lake Superior for a weekend. That was the 7th to the 9th. We stayed at the Viking Motel, a little flytrap motel I found on the Net. I liked it, but I'm fairly sure
joshuwain wasn't thrilled. However, despite that it was a lot of fun. We hit Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse, Pallasaide Head, and a few other places, and ate at Betty's Pies and another place my brain isn't recalling the name of. I came back with pictures, which I still have to post, and a rock that is 1.1 BILLION years old. All in all, a good time.
This week has been mostly me lying around; I took three days off, two of which had nothing to do with the trip! I worked a total of two days this last week. Oh! Also, I've joined a MUD called Flexible Survival; it started as a SexMUD, but it's evolved rather oddly into Survival Adventure/Horror and Science Fiction. Its a blast. ;)
