And now, the next episode!

Here's the latest Werewolf: The Apocalypse run, which I've titled 'Elevated Priorities'. Thanks to our GM, Mike M. for the names and info I requested!
The morning has dawned for the Warband, still at the Labrys Cairn; we pick up the tale with their leavetaking via moonbridge, their destination being once again the Open Hand. As they travel, Will, generally much more close-mouthed on matters asks 'Why do we not pursue the mines, where the attacks originate?' referring to the tunnels that the Spirals and their allies had created to facilitate their massed-attacks on the Garou. Lanya replies, 'Because we decided that the Vampires are more important.' He then asks 'Did you decide that?' 'No...' is the reply. 'Then what do YOU decide?' Lanya gets quiet and thinks it over. She IS the Pack Leader, after all, at least until the return of Johanna.
There is some quiet conversation as the pack continues its journey, but nothing of real substance. As they approach and are about to cross into the territory of the Open Hand, Will once again pipes up with some irritation: 'Are we not going to announce ourselves?' 'What's gotten into ye? Yuir not usually th' one t' call th' rules so...' says Mary, surprised at Will's unusual forthrightness. Will returns with 'Until we have a Philodox in the Pack again, someone must.' Lanya has Mary, the closest thing to a Galliard in the Pack make the announcement, and with her howl they cross the border into the Sept.
They are met by Gromden, one of the few remaining adult members of the Open Hand; he is a Shadow Lord, but is utterly unconnected to the Aerie Shadow Lords. He welcomes them, and while pleasantries are exchanged once again extends the resources of the Carin to the Warband. Lanya requests the use of a room so that the pack might be able to discuss matters and come to a proper course of action.
They also learn that Johanna is STILL off with Ajax, and that Traci, the young Silent Strider is still asleep after her exertions for her tribe, and is likely to still be asleep for some time. The meeting itself is relatively short; they run over the possibilities, and determine that a conference with Nevrix, whether a peaceful talk or an act of violent coercion, is needed to get closer to the bottom of a great deal of issues including the location and condition of Mother Yaga, and possibly hints as to the greater schemes of the so-called Council of Five.
The question becomes simply whether to go after Nevrix in the daytime when he may be quiescent and thus unresponsive (but relatively helpless), or in the night when he'll be able to answer questions but far more dangerous. Daylight is chosen, and although the likelihood of the vampire being at his office they head for the IDS tower, using the light rail system. The last time they attempted to use it, the cars of the system had a strong Wyrm signature; now, however there is only the most fleeting sense of taint, like that of an object that had been exposed to a strong Wyrm presence.
With no incidents other than Derek's severe discomfiture at having to ride on such a plebeian conveyance, they reach the IDS and enter. Of course, this is the home of Hyperion, God of the Sun, also known as elevator car #9. Will walks up to the elevator doors and says 'Greetings, Hyperion!', fully expecting the elevator to simply respond to his verbal call. Someone does hit the call button (Mary and Lanya both, actually), and soon it arrives. Before that, while they wait Derek is checking out the local hominid scenery, notably the females of the species; he is turning on the charm a bit, nonverbally, and is getting some reactions. Lanya suggests to him to 'tone it down'.
They enter Hyperion, and Will has a unique conversation with Hyperion as they travel upwards to the 'nonexistent' floor occupied by Nevrix' offices. He gives the embedded command words (he recites Jabberwocky) to give him some influence over the elevator-spirit, and during their conversation the rest of the Warband are treated to a tinny, elevator-speaker rendition of Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries!'
Finally, they reach the office, and Hyperion lets them out. The place is exceedingly luxuriant and ostentatious, with finely carved ornate woodwork, expensive but tasteful furniture and the best view over Minneapolis that money can buy. Nevrix, however, is not in residence.
Without the vampire, they are at a bit of a loss as to what to do next. Derek decides that he wants to raid the computer at Nevrix' desk. He picks up the desk phone to dial out, thinking that he doesn't have his phone as he'd crushed the last one- he doesn't know that Mary is still carrying his older phone! Before he can dial, he hears a voice! 'Can I help you?' Its Nevrix' personal assistant!
Thinking fast, Derek replies 'Yes, you can- I and my companions had an appointment to meet Mr. Chatham (Nevrix' identity in the mortal world) at one, and we're here but it looks as if he won't be appearing- is there a way we can contact him?' The assistant pauses, then says 'Ah yes, I see- there seems to have been some confusion as to the time. He has you down for 1 AM, rather than in the afternoon. I'm sorry for the confusion; can you make 1 AM tonight?' Derek, surprised the they could possibly have been expected accepts the 'new' appointment time, and asks if the phone can be used for outgoing calls; when he receives an affirmation of this ('Just dial 9'), he hangs up.
Once off the phone he tells his companions what just occurred; realizing that now things have changed significantly in terms of their preparations, they decide to snoop around again. Derek once again moves to call the Rochester Glass Walkers, being stymied when he realizes he never memorized the numbers, instead having programmed them into his phone! At which point Mary hands him back his phone.
He reaches the Cairn (specifically Lab Master Jones) and is soon talking with Phreakin', the preeminent hacker of the Cairn. However, there seems to be no connection between Nevrix' machine and the web. Other ways must be found to get the information! Will offers a solution, namely to enter the Umbra and commune with the spirits residing in the machine, thus gaining access required through a mystic 'back door'.
Will tries to enter the Umbra, but seems to have difficulty; Derek, forgetting that his phone will lose connection when it leaves the physical world. He takes Will across successfully, and the connection is lost; however, now they have both a new way into the system, and unusual information- The ornate desk from Nevrix' office, which like the office itself had little or no Wyrm taint, has an Umbral presence! It is NOT a desk there- instead it is a large circular table, carved on both its upper and lower surfaces with strange symbols and characters! Like its real-world self, it has no taint of the Wyrm.
Will memorizes the table's appearance (he can do that), and he and Derek begin work on gaining access to the computer. To this purpose, Will traces the lines of power and communication passing into and out of the computer- electricity spirits! Communications will be represented by lower power. Once this is accomplished, they determine what they need to do to actually access it.
In the meantime, Mary and Lanya are still in the office, having seen their companions vanish into the Umbra. Knowing that they did this act themselves (vampires have no Umbral presence and can't go there), they both snoop about the office. Neither aims to ransack or damage anything. Lanya is just searching systematically, while Mary has the idea that given Nevrix might have known we were coming, anything that he might want us to know will be 'hidden in plain sight', lain down in a natural fashion rather than directly concealed.
Neither of the pair find anything truly useful, though Mary finds a listening device in a lampshade! After pointing this out to Lanya, she puts it back where she found it.
Back in the Umbra, Will has summoned the spirit of the computer that Phreakin' uses. This creature is eager to raid another machine, and on Will's instructions it enters and takes everything it finds, returning with the mass of data to Phreakin'! Shortly thereafter, Will brings himself and Derek back to 'reality' in the office, where Derek gets a call from Lab Master Jones. He was a little concerned at the disappearance of Derek in midcall, and when he hears what happened he says 'you don't have a phone that can work in the Umbra? You should get one of those...'
Derek tells him that Phreakin' should have all the data from Nevrix' machine, which pleases the Glass Walker to no end. The call is finished, and the Warband head back to Hyperion... Er, the elevator and head down. While they go, Will talks more with the strange spirit, learning what floors that Nevrix frequents. The vampire Lord often exits on the 38th and 32nd floors, and on the 30th; this last he only gets off on to transfer to another elevator to reach the 18th floor. Hyperion doesn't stop on 18, being an express to the executive floors. Nevrix' offices are on the 58th floor (which shouldn't exist), and he additionally often goes to the sub-basement.
Once they reach the ground level again, Will notes what businesses are on the floors indicated for later research. The group are all hungry by this point, and when this is mentioned Mary suggests a restaurant that she'd heard of- a Brazilian steak house called 'Fogo De Chao'; VERY expensive! They spend several hours eating a LOT of well-prepared meat, and finally leave around 6 PM. From there, they hire a kinfolk-owned limousine and head back to Derek's estate, most of the pack nearly falling asleep after the protein-glut; Will DOES fall asleep, and reverts to his birth-form, Crinos! Fortunately, its a BIG limo.
At the estate, the pack separate slightly. Will goes off to 'commune with nature', while Lanya avails herself of the swimming pool. Derek heads for his office with Mary in tow, to video-conference with the Rochester Cairn. He has the butler, Alexander, fetch coffee for him and tea for Mary.
He sets up the connection and is soon faced with the Cairn leader, Dr. Angela Watson, rather than Lab Master Jones! Startled, he greets her and finds out WHY she answered the call- apparently there was some interesting information gained from the computer! She compliments him and the Warband's efforts, including Will as he wanders in. She in fact singles him out for his work in assisting her cairn in its security! Mary realizes that the things being discussed will be important to the entire group and goes to fetch Lanya, getting her tea from Alexander as the pair return.
With some high-tech splitscreen goodness the two Glass Walkers appear before the assembled pack and start laying out what was found in the mass of data taken from Nevrix' office. There was some financial data, but not a lot, apparently the system had been wiped relatively recently. There is a day planner empty except for a meeting with the Warband (under their homid names, no less!) at 1 AM upcoming. Nevrix has their phone numbers, addresses, and a complete transcript of their time in his office up to the point the information was taken! There are some errors in it, mostly caused by Will's lisp and Mary's Irish accent- its decided that it was some kind of high-end transcription program, taking the conversation picked up from the bug Mary found.
In addition to this, there is some useful information- A shipping schedule for Omega Shipping. Mary asks, 'Wasn't that th' name on th' truck with the Gaia's Tears?' As it turns out, yes, it was. The next shipment through Omega goes out in two weeks, and the history of the schedule only goes back three days.
There are a large number of documents that are digital images of photographs, some very old- images of Sumerian cuneiform tablets and Egyptian papyrus scrolls. SOme of these look familiar to Will and Derek, and they bring up the Desk-on-Earth, Table -in-the-Umbra, mentioning the lack of Wyrm-taint on the object; this dovetails oddly with some of the writings found in the computer data, which mention a thing called 'Golconda'.
Dr. Watson jumps in at this point, and fills those assembled in on what Golconda is: namely a kind of 'redemption for the unredeemable' that some vampires aspire to, by abstaining from evil acts and refraining from killing when they feed. Whether its real or not is questionable (at least by the Garou), but it lends credence, given all that is occurring and what has been found that Nevrix may be one of those questing for this state of enlightenment or redemption.
She also supplies a bit of information on Nevrix himself. He is apparently not the oldest or the youngest vampire out there, being about 100 years old or so. He first appeared in the Twin Cities region in the late 1800s or early 1900s, as recorded by the Glass Walker Mill Lords who were active in the area at the time. he apparently rose to the Princehood of the region in 1957, overthrowing and possibly killing his predecessor. After this explanation, and Will being supplied with a large Wacom-like tablet so that he can draw exactly what the table looked like (one to one scale too!), including all of the strange writings and patterns, Dr. Watson steps back out of the direct conversation.
Lastly, there is an interesting note- apparently an update to the day planner entry: A note about a meeting with Nevrix, the Warband... and a Councilmember Lyran! Nevrix perhaps is tossing the pack something more than just a meeting for the exchange of information! Congratulations go around the group, and Lab Master Jones and Phreakin' have new things to research and work on; as for the Warband, they have a meeting later to attend.
The Warband spend the time resting and getting ready as each is wont to do. Eventually the appointed hour arrives and they head downtown in the Hummer. They park, and soon are faced with a closed-and-locked IDS tower.
Thinking that Nevrix had set matters up for the meeting to be traditional, aka they enter by normal means, take the elevator up and enter the office like most people, they bypass the lock (via Control Simple Machine used by Derek), and enter, only to be confronted by a very nervous young security guard who asks them to leave. Eventually, as they can't seem to contact Nevrix or convince the guard that they really DID have a meeting in the building, they leave and plan on a different way to enter.
Specifically, they enter the Umbra, bypassing the lobby and guard completely and take Hyperion up! 'GREETINGS, FRIENDS! WELCOME ONCE AGAIN TO MY PRESENCE!' is the call, and as they rise upwards the other elevator-spirits that make up Hyperion's entourage rise as well, stopping in orchestrated order as they go! Soon they reach their destination, and leave Hyperion, immediately crossing back into the real world.
However, things are, not unsurprisingly, NOT friendly on their arrival! Flanking the doors of the elevator are four gun-wielding individuals; Nevrix himself is standing and looking rather vexed, looking at a woman sitting at HIS desk with her feet up! Immediately upon their sudden entry the pack is faced with the goons' attack!
Notably, the fight doesn't take all that long. Mary, And Derek do the bulk of the initial fight, Lanya attempting at first to be as diplomatic as is possible when faced by people with guns. Nevrix during the fight (obviously) fakes a few shots towards Lanya; she ends up entering the fight and taking down one of the goons, and surprisingly Will takes down the Councilwoman after she turns into a wolf! Mary towards the end gets fed up, and one of her foes ends up going at high velocity through the plate glass window! At the end of the melee, Nevrix says 'Boring...' and shoots the (barely) surviving last goon. 'I am so glad you got my invitation' he says...
