Stuff and Other Stuff.
Apr. 10th, 2010 07:56 pmI've been doing some (very little, actually) cleaning around the house, mostly general stuff, but I'm hoping to get things a bit tidier over the next few days. As I FINALLY had the money to do so, I hit the laundromat and washed all my bedding excepting the pillows. Its been all winter since I did, and it was DEFINITELY overdue. Of course, I forgot the damn laundry soap and the place turns out to no longer take credit cards (my TCF card is treated as one), so it was a bit more of a pain than it needed to be, but.
So that's done. I'll likely do the pillows this week on principle, and even MORE likely just replace two of them- it turns out one of 'em can't be washed, only 'wiped down'. Ick. Tomorrow the plan is to vacuum the upstairs, sweep the kitchen, clean the kitchen rugs and wash the furnace filters. Of course, the catboxes need to be done as well. I'll get that tonight.
In other news, I'm going out to breakfast with the folks in the morning after work, at one of the remaining Bakers Square restaurants. Food is good!
Finally, my reading continues at its overly rapid pace. I finished the latest Dresden novel, Changes, this morning before I went off to do laundry. Of course it was great, and I wanna say stuff about it but I won't. There is ONE thing I wanna say, and its frustrating as hell that I can't! I'm going to read it through again, maybe tonight, though I think I'll finish 'High Lords Fury' (book 6 of Butcher's Codex Alera series) first.
Next up on the reading list are the first Tarzan novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, 'Peregrine' by Poul Anderson and 'Hestia' by C.J. Cherryh.
