realsorienAs of 3:15 AM Central today I turned 45 years old. Feels about the same as 44 did, really. The folks gave me money, and that was spent on a pile of books and a fan for the computer. Woo. ;) The REAL gift may be new carpet in the upstairs, but that'll probably happen after their trip to Alaska in July. Today I've done very little, which I think is a good way to spend a birthday, though I did get out to Target to replace my ancient and now broken keyboard for the gaming computer. I now have a wireless Logitech keyboard- it has a nice keyfeel, quieter than the old keyboard and a bit more comfortable to use. However, it does seem to lose connectivity once in a while, but I can live with that cos I don't have that damned cord to wrangle anymore.
Other than that, I work tonight and REALLY ought to deal with dishes and recycling- tomorrow is trash day and the biweekly recycling pickup.
I R so exciting. :)
Oh- the books I got were:
Blood Lite (a collection of horror stories tending to the lighthearted and comedic)
Three Mercy Thompson series books by Patricia Briggs: Iron Kissed, Bone Crossed and the new one, Silver Borne.
Three of Patricia Briggs' OTHER series, Alpha Omega: On the Prowl, Cry Wolf and Hunting Ground.
I also got a copy of Silver Borne for a friend- Half Price Books had two copies of the hardcover so I got 'em both.
