We're looking into cheaply replacing the couch and loveseat in the back room with something less... Man eating. I may have found a decent couch-replacement at Savers (under $10, so), and I may get it tomorrow. Hopefully this will aid in [livejournal.com profile] zxizaraxii's skin allergy issue. I also wanted to go get yardwork done tonight, and I have dad's gas trimmer and leaf blower for the purpose- naturally, when the fucker started FIRST TRY for him, it won't even spark for me. I hate these things with a burning passion, and they hate me back. Problem is, they're better at it. (sigh) My brother and his daughter were going to come out to work this weekend- I guess it'll wait til then.

In BETTER news, I'll get the bird and groceries for the Halloween party on Friday, and the cleaning in the house I've started in on continues.

Okay...

SO far I've done about 1600 words today. I would have done more, but right after my round last night I started feeling pretty terrible. Regardless, I'll get the remaining 1400 words of my daily goal done later today, and I'll post the next section then too.

In other news, still NO news on the desk I might or might not be getting from work. It will replace the Damned Desk(tm) out front, and is a far more managable size. I'm also kinda looking for another loveseat or hide-a-bed for a good price (like, FREE) for the front room.

(edit) Oh! I forgot. I voted right after work. Get out there and vote!

... Here's a bit of an update. First, it turned out that I WAS sick, rather than it being my allergies. I think I'm mostly over it now, but this afternoon will tell. I had to work last night regardless. Aside from being a bit run down, it wasn't too bad. Mostly it was a head cold-ish thing, and I'm basically down to just sniffles now.

Other than that, I didn't get a damned thing done this weekend, primarily due to that. Yesterday was me sleeping all day, or at least trying to. Today is sleep followed by the Horror Campaign, which I'm looking forward to despite not getting the damned writeup done. I sent the GM the raw notes at least.

One thing that was good about working last night- I got myself a nice little deskish thing from work, that would have been thrown out otherwise. Its mainly designed for a printer I think, but it has a pull-out keyboard tray. Its in real good shape, and while a touch unwieldy I was able to manhandle the thing into the house and to my room without any real trouble or significant noise.

And that about covers it.

Great meal at Flame with [livejournal.com profile] mirrdae, [livejournal.com profile] foeclan, [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain and [livejournal.com profile] feezlekahn, followed with losing my balance and dropping heavily into my chair... Which led to the mainspring in the seat snapping clean in half. :P

Grr. I'm tired of stupid shit like this happening. :P

So then...

Just a lil post to say I'm alive and kicking for the most part. I'm still playing City of Heroes, but I'm not playing near as much as I was. I can't see kicking the habit entirely tho- I'm way too much of a Supers-junkie for that.

As to other things, I'm (hopefully with a bit more ambition than of late) contemplating what to do around the house, both in terms of cleanup and rearrangement of rooms... The front room especially. You see, I got this MASSIVE desk from work, and put it out there. Now... its a nice desk, but it it just too frigging huge. I'm considering whether I should keep it or just throw in the towel, get rid of it and find a smaller desk for the front corner at a garage sale. What do people think? A smaller desk would be easier to integrate, definitely.

I'm also thinking about getting rid of some of the chairs up front and maybe trying to find cheap replacements... But we'll see what comes.

I've also gotten back into music, or rather the acquisition of CDs. I've dumped the vast majority of my currently-held CDs onto the laptop, and I'm seriously entertaining the idea of getting one of the high-capacity Ipods... Gah. I can't BELIEVE I'm considering this! If I do, it won't be til after August, as I'll have to save up for it. I won't be getting it on credit!

Beyond that, life is dull. I'm not having to walk as much at work as we're now stationing one person in a suite on one end of the complex, whose duties consist of sitting there. Yay! So, two to three days a week I'm over there. Needless to say, the knees hurt less. Also, its been allowing me to write more, as I'm no longer having a coworker sitting right there. :)

That's about it for now, really.

Well, I just obtained what would be a $1000+ office executive desk from work. It was being pitched for god knows what reason, because the scratches on it pretty much came from it being moved to the loading dock for disposal. Its oak finished laminate, so its not THAT magical a find, but its in very good shape aside from scrapes on one side (a little sanding might fix it, or I live with it) and a join that needs gluing. Also, its HUGE.

I'm putting it in the front room of the house, and I'll prolly be moving the computer from my room out front, with the printer, scanner and all that- it'll easily handle all of it and still have open space. Now I just have to decide how to place it. :)

Other than that, I'm at work and the night is a quiet one. I might have to take another look at the car, as I think it may still be leaking antifreeze, but that isn't a serious concern. I've also put in for some time off- March 1st through 3rd- so I'll have a nice 5 day weekend then to clean the house and thereafter slack off bigtime. Maybe a movie party is in order, or perhaps a few TaskForce Missions on City of Heroes.
