City of Heroes!

For a while now I've been saying that I'm going to post up my City of Heroes characters with images. Well, finally I got the pics ready (with help from
joshuwain,
ataramos and
feezlekhan), and here they are. All behind cuts, of course. ;)

Goblinn is a Dark Melee/Regeneration Scrapper. As of this writing she's 20th level, and I've kinda semi-idled her so she can team with some friends.
Origin
I don't have her full origin written up here, but I think I did put one on her ID in the game. In basic, through ancient heritage and exposure to powerful magics, she ended up as she is; she's my 'me' in the game.

Flaretrail is a Fire/Fire Blaster with Superspeed as her movement power. Zoom! With the current graphical effect for superspeed, she definitely lives up to the name. She's 14th level or so now.
Origin
Unlike a large number of heroes, mutants included, Flaretrail always had power. From the time she first learned to walk she had the ability to create and manipulate fire, and to move faster than seemed normal for her age; however, these abilities seemed to be minor, and as she grew up they never improved. Then the day came when almost all of the powered beings within Atlas City, as well as around the world, lost their powers; which happened to her, as well.
She went on with her life, as she'd never been a hero and never particularly been able to find a useful purpose for her abilities other than lighting campfires or igniting the occasional reluctant gas stove. And then with the actions of the Freedom Phalanx, people's powers returned! But hers came back with a vengeance!
That day she was walking in Atlas Park, and she suddenly erupted into a massive ball of fire! She burned like this for almost an hour, with all attempts to extinguish her failing. Eventually the flames ebbed out, but it was apparent that she was far beyond the minor talent she'd once been.
Receiving some counseling and training from Hero Corps, she now took the name of Flaretrail and became one of the heroes of Atlas City; now she's ready to truly make a difference.

Skull-Buster is a Superstrength/Invulnerability Tanker, currently at 8th level. he was originally a villain in one of the tabletop games I ran, but he's too interesting a character to let him lie idle there.
Origin
Born in 1908, the man who would become Skull-Buster started out ordinarily enough, growing up in the poorer sections of Kings Row. Relatively unimaginative but clever in a limited way, he started into a life of crime early with petty thefts and acts of violence. Over the years he became an accomplished legbreaker, and by his 24th year he was somewhat in-demand in that position. At 25, however, something occurred that changed his destiny forever- while performing a little theft on the side, he found an unusual artifact from a dig in South America; a crystal skull, flawless in its design, with a purpose-made fissure splitting it to the lower jaw.
Obviously priceless, he took the artifact and ran; however, the skull, its makers or its patrons had other ideas... A howling, ululating scream emanated from the skull, and with a flash of tremendous pain, he knew no more.
Hours later, he awoke, but not as he had been! he was now over 7 feet tall, and possessed of an impossible physique; he could feel vast strength coursing through his massive frame, and knew that very little could now harm him. Of the skull, there was now only a pile of fine quartz powder.
He took this as an omen; he would be a crimelord using his newfound power! He put together a costume designed to create fear, with a split skull for a mask; taking the name Skull-Buster, he became a serious threat in the city for many years. During this time he found himself facing off with the costumed heroes who had begun to appear on the scene, even once being punched by Statesman; he referred to these encounters as 'setbacks' and continued on his career, never being caught though his plans were often foiled.
In the end, he was stopped. A hero by the name of Jackhammer had become his perennial nemesis, and in 1955 the two clashed for what would be the final time. An entire building was destroyed in their titanic clash, and with one final earth-shattering connection of blows, both hero and villain fell; Jackhammer in a coma from which he never awakened, and Skull-Buster, dead.
But this was not the end. There were those who would have uses for a supernaturally-powered pawn, and they managed to steal his corpse from the morgue; dark magics were used, and the mind and part of the soul of Skull-Buster returned to his undead form! No longer possessed of free will to act, he now served whatever master his mysterious creators wished. This went on for decades, until he was buried in a building collapse and lost.
Fast forward to roughly a year ago. Excavations for new construction in King's Row unearths the form of Skull-Buster, and he is able to communicate his tale, however haltingly; still subject to the control of those who revived him but forgotten by them, he cannot move.
M.A.G.I is notified, and Skull-Buster is remanded to their charge. He tells them he wants them to either destroy him, or restore him; he knows what awaits him on the other side, as he is trapped in a limbo between the fire and life; They agree to help him, and soon with their help he lives again fully!
However... he is no longer the criminal he once was. he knows what awaits him if he continues as he had been, and knows that he has penance to pay to balance the scales; he creates a new costume for himself, and though far reduced from his former days of criminal glory he returns to the streets as Skull-Buster once again, this time as a hero.

Fey is my current favorite character. She's a Bow/Devices Blaster, 12th Level at the moment. 'Ebon' is her Clan name; she was NEVER human, having been dragged from her world to Atlas City by out-of control magics.
Origin
Life for Fey was for the most part a simple affair; she lived her life as one of her people's hunter-warriors and for the most part was free to live her life outside those duties. Her people, who never referred to themselves by any designation of species, never followed the path of technology to any great extent; instead, their world was one of a magical tradition. This being the case, they knew of other worlds and for the most part didn't traffic with the few worlds that reached theirs; they were happy, if not totally peaceful.
One day in the spring of her twenty-eighth year, Fey of clan Ebon was on her regular patrol when she saw a strange greenish light- she approached, and suddenly the world for her turned upside down; day became night, a clearing in the woods at midday became a cavern lit with flickering light, and her solitude was replaced by a ring of robed figures and a female suspended in midair between!
Not knowing what had happened but recognizing a threat, she swung her bow about and in short order dispatched the mystics; the woman whom she'd saved tried to speak to her, but she couldn't understand it. Strangely, the woman seemed to have calmed very quickly, and indicated that Fey should follow her. Not having any knowledge of what had occurred, Fey did so.
Once the Atlas Park M.A.G.I offices had been reached and a painful spell of translation cast, Fey learned what had occurred; the woman was a M.A.G.I. researcher who the group known as the Circle of Thorns had taken as an 'appropriate sacrifice' for one of their summoning rituals; apparently, this one time they picked a bad place for the event, as they drew too much power far too quickly and accidentally dragged Fey to Earth, rather than being able to complete the ritual sacrifice of their victim.
Research soon showed that there was no trace of where her homeworld was, and no way to return her yet. Promising to try and assist her in her return, M.A.G.I. provided her with quarters, clothing and an introduction to her new home. Since then, she has become intrigued with the world, and when the time comes she might not go back...

Jetline's origin I've not written up yet. I've some ideas, but I think I want to weave her into the world a little more firmly, so I'll put it together later.
