Thoughts on Carlin.

George Carlin was one of the comic greats of our time, and along with people like Richard Pryor led the way to a new kind of standup- not necessarily totally 'new' but something that became a touchstone to the times that they lived in, and the world of their time in general.

Now Carlin has passed, and thats a sad thing... But really, he would have died someday. And I really doubt he'd want people to mope about dwelling on the fact that he's gone. Here's something better to do- download his comedy, watch his shows on DVD or Comedy Central or HBO, listen to his CDs and hear what he had to say about our world and the people in it.

This, I think, is a better way to honor a man who spent his life making people smile- by being happy with what he's given us all: A good time.

Goodnight, Mr. Carlin. The stage is dark. Time to go home.

Mope about dwelling? Fucks sake, FIRST DAY. People 'dwell' when it's been days, dude, not the normal sorrow of the first god damn day you find out.
