So far I've done very little, which was the plan for the most part. Tonight I'm going to make chicken and mashed potatoes for myself and some others, and sometime today or tomorrow I may run out to Uncle Hugo's to check out the 'Additional 10% Off' Sale that happens to be on. I also should pick up comics...

Other than that, not much is up. I made a chocolate cake the other day, and me and [livejournal.com profile] ataramos have been decimating it ever since. I think there might be a quarter of it left, if that. Today, the cable guys were out, as we were having some weird issues- they changed out the connector outside and gave us a new box, and noted several things that needed to be fixed due to wiring codes outside- That won't cost anything, it just needs fixing. :) The bad part of this is that all the stuff that was recorded in the OLD box is now gone. At least the problem is fixed. I think.

Sometime before Saturday I'm going to start writing up the next Traveller run, and for those in the Sunday Group who actually check this out, I may have a surprise on Sunday!

Not much is going on right now, really. I've had a touch of insomnia the last few days, probably due to me trying to figure out what causes it- Caffeine may or may not have a part in it, but the bed definitely might be part of the problem. So, someone (I can't recall who) mentioned that queen-sized mattress pads of that memory foam stuff were on sale, so I'll maybe look into getting one. Now THAT'S exciting. ;)

On other matters, I've finally gotten around to working on an update for my website. Its gonna be a LOT different, and a lot bigger too- hopefully I'll be able to keep it on visi, but if the storage costs are too much I'll look at going to google, who have a hosting thingie.

Dad has decided for the painting of the house that we're hiring someone to do it. Yay! He's paying, but when the house finally does go on the market, I get to pay him back. This won't be for a year at the earliest as far as I can tell... The selling that is. The painting may happen as soon as next week!

And finally, I'm about to start work on the next 7th Sea writeup. Scotty G. at last was able to join us, but as his character doesn't share a language with ANY of us, we don't know his name! For that matter, its been 'amusing' trying to communicate... Someone has to learn someone else's language, methinks. Or several of us. ;)

We'll start with Friday. Things went fine for the most part, with my getting most of the cleaning dine and the meatballs cooked, then I went to work at 10:30, due there at 11. Once there, I realized I'd not put the casserole full of meatballs and sauce in the fridge! A quick call home and that was taken care of by [livejournal.com profile] zxizaraxii. The night continues.

I go on my first round, and at the end I realized that I should probably check on the leak that'd been found the previous night; nobidy had bothered to say if it'd been fixed, after all. So I went up to the 26th floor. I got a little mixed up and went the wrong way, and SLAMMED into a glass partition that I couldn't see in the dim light! The keys dropped, the radio fell off my belt and my glasses went flying, and I ended up on the floor, on my knees moaning and holding my face!

It was shortly thereafter that I felt the blood flowing. Ack!

I cupped my hands, more worried about getting blood on the carpeting than anything else (only one drop there!) and hauled ass for a restroom, sans glasses (if I picked them up, I dropped the blood!) I couldn't find it immediately and left an almost horrific drippy bloodtrail as I searched! Eventually I found it, and cleaned up some- Ow. I got back to the scene, got the radio and other stuff called the cleaners and they got the blood. Thereafter I returned to the office, dazed and hurt but for the most part okay.

THAT was Friday.

Saturday, I had the Holiday Party. This went very well, I think. I got a nice amount of loot (mostly DVDs, yay!) and I think the food went over very well. I have leftovers! Of course, the Karma Lords weren't finished with me at all, oh no...

Sunday was quiet, and I should have taken this for an omen... Although unmentioned through all of this is that the insomnia is back again and my sleep schedule is WEIRD at best. Monday comes, and with it I have to go to a class for work, namely 'Verbal Judo'. Monday morning comes, and with it the DSL fails. Of course. I go online with the built-in phone modem on the laptop to at least chat.

Thereafter I get showered and such, get dressed and have a good hour for the 20 minute drive. I get together the trash to take out (wrapping paper, that kinda stuff), and run it down to the can. It goes in, I head back to the house. Now, this is in back of the house, in the alley. There is a stairway up to the back door, next to the garage. At the foot of this is where the downspout from the roof empties out. Anyway, I reach that corner, find some ice and slip! I windmill to not fall, and I don't- instead, I SLAM my hand into the gutter! Ouch. It looks horrible, but its just minor cuts and scrapes. I must have bruised my knee then too.

Anyway, I cuss and bitch, and after washing it off head to the class. It goes well, and I head home afterwards at about 3 PM. And I hear a squeaking at the front of the car, and more of a shudder to things than I'd like. So when I get home I crank the steering all the way over and see what I can see.

Well, on most cars the wheels are mounted on big springs for shock-absorption. The one over the front left wheel has dropped down onto the wheel, and thats the squeak- the baseplate rubbing on the tire! If everything wasn't wet, it would have heated and shredded the tire!

So, I talk to the folks, and have AAA tow the car out to them so dad can have a look, and that brings us to today. It isn't looking good for the car, and I dunno what'll come of this. I may have my brother's old Ford Taurus wagon, or I could just be totally fucked, or dad might pull a miracle out of his ass. I dunno.

Weirdly enough, I feel fine- Beats me why, with all this suckage. But in truth, I'm good. :)

Well, I soon head out to the new posting. Here's hoping that it doesn't suck too much, but from the little I've heard so far, it shouldn't be too bad. No stairway-walks, 42 floor office building that I use the elevators for the round in. Not bad, so it seems.

I'll let people know how it went in the morning- I'm leaving the house early to find the place.
