Well, I just got in. The train was a half-hour early, and mom & dad picked me up. I'm now at home, having given Luna scritching til she decided she didn't want any more. :)

And while on the ride home, I DID get typing done- BOTH of the runs that I needed to catch up on for the Werewolf game. See the next post!

Okay, I'm finally here. The train ride was quiet and relaxing, and I actually managed to doze a bit on the way. No delays, no nothing, and the arrival at Union Station in Chicago was on time. I asked if there was a station closer to Shaumberg for next year, and found out that the answer was no. O well. I got a taxi... And thats where things went wrong. If I'd stuck with the cab I chose (All-American Cab- DO NOT USE!!), I'd have been paying over $100 to get to the fucking hotel! Naturally, the bastard didn't TELL me this til we were on the freeway, despite my asking SEVERAL times. I should have gotten his cab number, but O well. I had him take me to O'Hare instead, and got the fuck out. He was one of those terrifying drivers on top of it. It cost $50 to O'Hare (!!) and another $30 in a different cab to get to the hotel. Ouch. Well, that'll larn me...

Anyway, for people's reference, use All-Star Cab. They have a lot of flat rates, and if I'd used them from the start it would have beed $40 from Union.

I fucking hate cabs.

Anyway, the room number is 5225 for now; it might change, cos I really wanted to be in the 1st floor room-block; I'll talk to them tomorrow. Right now, its off with nemetfox & co. for FOOD!

Remember: TEA PARTY IN MY ROOM THURSDAY FROM 5 to 10!!! THERE WILL BE COOKIES!!

Well, I've got the oatmeal cookies done now, and I'm about halfway through the lemon tea-cookies... I've not tried one yet, but they look and smell good. I'll test the glaze tonight to see how well they'd travel if I put it on now, but I've really little hope that it'd work out. But things go apace, and I think that I'm relatively on schedule. I have to do laundry, go to the laundromat with my bedding and sleeping bag (just the bag is going to the con- I just kinda need to do the rest too), finish the cookies and get them to joshuwain who is transporting them for me, and repack the tea-party bag. I head for the train at 6 AM tomorrow (Wednesday), leaving the station at about 7:50 AM. I'll be at the hotel at 5 or so, and I'll get the room number posted here and on FurryMUCK posthaste. :)
