What I believe...

I said this again today on FurryMUCK to someone, and I think I wanna post it here. This sums up my 'faith' as it were, and how I hold things to be. If you disagree, I honestly won't denigrate your beliefs, but I believe THIS and I really don't give a fuck if you think I'm wrong. ;)

God, if you ask me, created the universe probably with the physical rules, laws, structures and probable originating reactions that science is finding, winding things up and watching the show. I'm certain there is a TON of things we've still not seen, or that we have and can't yet comprehend. He's waiting for someone to make it all the way to his level. Then, he'll open the door to the Victorian drawing room he's in, show whomever or whatever they are in, and say "I'm glad you could make it; I've been waiting a long time. Tell me about yourselves; we have forever, you know."

My God isn't an asshole who's just waiting to take everyone's toys away.

The clockwork god isn't that rare an idea. Built it and left us to figure it out. No direct intervention. Yay.

Of most of the beliefs where you have to have some god or thing out there, this is one of the ones I like more.

Sounds alot like my beliefs, a variation of Deism.. which I've been lead to believe was rather popular with our Founding Fathers.
