Uungh (stretches with cracking sounds...)

Well, Last night I didn't work as my company didn't get back to me with a new account-assignment. So, instead i spent the night wrapping most of the gifts I've gotten people for Xmas. Ugh. Every year I think it'll go fast, and every year it turns out to be a killer marathon of paper and tape.

Oof. Anyway, I've gotten everything wrapped but for two that require added components, and two that I've not picked up yet. After those, I'm finished. Yay!

I unfortunately still have leftover wrapping paper. From last year. And some even from the year before! I didn't even buy any this year I've so much left! I'm pretty sure the roomies could wrap almost all of whatever they're getting and there'd STILL be some left...

Eek.

I'll call work later today to see what gives. I'm pretty sure I'll be working again by Monday. But I've set it up so that I'm safe for a few weeks if necessary.

Good News, Bad News (Well, not all THAT bad...)

I just got a call from my new Area Manager. I'll be working next week and thereafter. :) Next week is just a filler-shift tho, and will be on 2nd shift- the regular guard there has to go to California on a family emergency, so they need me there to cover. That'll be Monday training, and Wednesday to Sunday, 2nd shift. After that, I'll be on an overnight at River Place, which is a retail area.

Both are a LOT closer to home, and I can have my laptop at both, too! Yay!

The bad part is it messes up Christmas at mom and dads. O well. At least I'll be paid for working the holiday. I think the permanent shift at River Place is a Midnight to 8, which will be nice. Don't know the days, tho. And its a lot of walking, like at the old account. feh.

I'm off til Monday next week. Long Weekend!

Unusual situation...

In the wikifur journal I posted a little comment on a group of spammers who were trying to 'flood' the site with spam or something. Below is my post.

"Lessee... I've been a 'furry' for... wow. A long time. (grin) Twenty or more years. I'm not gay. Wonder if these poor mammaboy-basement-dwelling fanboy stereotypes have figgered out that 'gay' and/or 'furry' aren't insults anymore, really, and that they're furries too if they ever enjoyed the following: Rocky & Bullwinkle, the Warner Bros. cartoons, Tom & Jerry and the rest of the Hannah-Barbera characters, the Disney characters, the Chronicles of Narnia, any of a VAST amount of science fiction and fantasy, sports mascots... and the list goes on. Furry doesn't mean porn, thought there certainly is a LOT of furry porn.

Then again, there are a thousand non-furry porn images out there for every furry porn image. And I think a lot of those are MUCH worse than the imagined images in furry.

Furry is also not bestiality and/or zoophilia. Not that these dear children really could fathom that.

Here's a trick- try getting your jollies by doing something NOT aimed at hurting someone else. That MIGHT be a bit more socially acceptable, and a bit less 'worthless nerd'."

I received one supportive comment, then (as I get email when a response is posted) I got THIS gem:

Some people really don't have a clue. I responded with the below post. We'll see what happens- Personally, I'm kinda amused. ;)
