Yesterday, I changed the insurance over from my old LeSaber to the 'new' Lacrosse, and finished the title transfer- that stung to the tune of $350. Ouch. My insurance is going up by $132 every 6 months, but that's not a real problem- I was at the very bottom of their pricing.

Left to do is cleaning the interior and getting new floor mats- I'm seriously considering the 'custom' prefit mats you can geet, as opposed to the 'fits all' trim-to-size mats that are a bit cheaper.

Not a ton cheaper, mind you. Not having the added trouble of trimming the damn things down will definitely make the pre-fits worth it.

I'll run it through the car wash after groceries on Thursday. Other than that, I have bills to pay (delays there whilst I find out how much I'll be socked for Spaz' dental work), but I'm in no danger at all.
I might start posting adventure write-ups here; I haven't decided. Right now I'm only doing them for the Sunday Shadowrun campaign; that's bloody well enough work, honestly. I might do quick recaps or something for the other games- I haven't decided.

Phooey!

I missed yesterday's daily! O well, it was an uneventful one anyway.

Today though... It started drizzling while I was at work. Being as this adds to the problem of ice and snow on the roof (and oddly also helps with that situation), I went up there this morning and dug a trench in the snow and much around the periphery of the flat roof, then salted the hell out of that area. Hopefully, the roof will drain better now, and the section where the flat roof abuts the peak won't flood, freeze and get inside. By the time I was done my back was screaming- shoveling wet snow sucks.

Before next Friday I need to clean the house some- nothing real hard, just a general picking-up-of-things and the usual sweeping and vacuuming. The party approacheth! I'll be going out today and ordering the subs from Cousins in a bit- four of them. There will be a LOT of food, and more than likely a lot of leftovers! I definitely don't mind that. As usual I'm gonna recruit people to help get the munchies (chips, pop, cheese and such), and I should make those calls tonight too.

Lastly, in an odd twist of fate I'm back on City of Heroes- Going Rogue was on sale on Steam for $10, and given that the price includes a month of play, I couldn't pass on it. I'm having fun in Pretoria with my new Energy Melee / Willpower Brute. :)

Oh- the New Years plans aren't fixed as of yet, but I should know whats up tonight, and we may be gaming in the Sunday Group this weekend. Woot!

I'll be back. Really. I've just been... Just not in the mood for MUCKing. Its not Champions Online- I MUCKed and played City of Heroes easily enough, I've just felt out of place and out of sorts on the MUCKs recently. I honestly think that a lot of this stems from my completely SCREWED sleep schedule. I don't seem to be able to top four restless hours asleep currently. It'll eventually pass (I hope), and I'll be back. I have all of next week off, so I have a shot at getting straightened out, and on top of that a lot of MUCKing time available. See you all soon!

Well, I went to Christmas at the folks yesterday. The drive out was fine, at least after I got off the local roads and onto the main thoroughfares. Because of the brilliant planning of the city and state about NOT declaring a snow emergency, nothing locally has been sufficiently cleared. Some of the alleys have gotten a pass through and that's about it.

I couldn't sleep previous, so I ended up going out and clearing the front walk early, then headed over to their place. We chatted then opened gifts- I got a bunch of DVDs from my brother and nieces, a new camera (Canon 1100S) from the folks, and some clothes. I also got more shotglasses and a little cash. The money will go for the new video card for the desktop. Woot. :)

I think the things I got them in return went over well, and I managed to get Sam, my 18 year old niece to actually laugh til her face went red. Not an easy trick! After dinner we watched Inglorious Basterds the movie I got my brother. I think I wanna get it- But it looks WEIRD in HD. Like its a television show. The picture is TOO sharp, and looks unreal, like its on set rather than 'reality'.

I got home around 8 or so, then passed out in the chair as the fatigue finally caught up. Something else did too- indigestion. I'm fairly sure its what mom and dad use to season the steaks, but whatever it is it just tears me up. :P

Right now I'm just kinda sitting around. I'll probably crash soonish. I may download Champions Online today sometime and try it out, too.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and whatever to all.

I've written another short story/vignette, and this time while there IS a connection to the 7th Sea game I'm in, its mostly about characters that are NOT part of the game. I REALLY want people to read this, as I need input as to how I'm doing with characterization and dialog. So PLEASE take a look ant tell me what you think!

As this tale is based in the world of Theah from the 7th Sea role-playing game, I thought it might be a good idea to include a few of the terms that are in the story that might not make sense to those not familiar. To wit:

Theah: The world. Used like we refer to our world as ‘Earth’.

Ussura: The nation of Theah roughly equivalent to Tsarist-period Russia, including Siberia.

Matushka: The ‘goddess’ of the Ussuran people. Basically a nature-divinity, she guards the nation against all threats... Occasionally at the expense of the people dwelling there.

Pyeryem: The magical ability to take the shape of animals, granted to select lines of the nobility of Ussura... And occasionally others, if Matushka decides it’s needful.

Not a lot went on, though I got Shadowmatch (Dark/Dark Scrapper) to level 48 (She started at L42) between Friday evening and the play today, and also got Coalesced (Archery/Psychic Blaster) up a level as well. I also did a bit more work in the base. Yeah, lots of City of Heroes on double-exp. weekend. ;)

Other than that, I've started the process of upgrading and fixing the Ibook up to make it last as long as I can. I've now got it running Mac OX X 10.5.4, which works nice, and allows me to once again install .dmg files, which the older version couldn't read due to a more recent format-change. Bad thing, I may have to replace or at least reload my copy of Photoshop. Oh well, its old anyway and I can find a copy of CS on ebay for a tolerable price.

Next up will be upping the memory stick from 512 mb to a gig- that'll be about $20 to $40. After that its a new hard drive, which is probably the most expensive given I may have it installed at the Apple store. After that its a new keyboard and fixing the damaged USB port and power cord connection port- both have finicky connection issues. Lastly, A new battery and maybe a new power supply, but those can wait.

Also today I picked up the WALL-E soundtrack, and a replacement copy of Fleetwood Mac's greatest hits- my old copy had a bad gouge across a few tracks from being carried in a cheap CD player. :P

Other than a nap before work, that was the day. I'm now at work, and looking forward to the Traveller campaign tonight!

Just Stuff.

I should note a few things that I neglected to note in my post after the party- [livejournal.com profile] firecatmn and hubby brought cookies, which were nommed into nonexistence before we even got to the actual meal, [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain brought a pasta dish that I didn't have any of due to me stuffing myself with other stuff- It looked and smelled good though! It was a pasta-and-cream-sauce dish with (I think) fettuccine noodies, peas and something else. Thanks to you for bringing stuff!

As to other things, Life has been life. I've mostly managed to keep the house neat-ish so far since the party. I need to do dishes (again), and after I take the tree down (after [livejournal.com profile] ataramos gets home) I really ought to vacuum. What I SHOULD do is tear the damn carpet out and get new, but I'd need money for that.

I picked up Batman: The Dark Knight and Prince Caspian on my disc-swap run, though I need to try another store to replace one movie. Also, the Target I went to the other night was OUT of plain white tube socks and black work socks of the type I wanted! A run on socks! (No apology for the minor pun!)

I also used my gift certificate for the Source to get Mutants & Masterminds. I'm reading through it and learning the system- Not bad, though it IS quite a bit different from what I'm used to in a supers game. I also picked up the Wild Cards supplement for M&M. Even if I don't ever use M&M, the Wild Cards supplement is damned comprehensive.

Beyond all that, I'm at work, its my Friday and I'm looking forward to my nights off. Oh! I ordered the Mac Upgrade for City of Heroes! It was cheaper to do that to get the goodies and the month of paid time than it was to wait and buy the goodies in 2 months! Besides, I wanted the goodies. :)

Not a lot going on right now, really. I'm looking forward (not really) to painting the windowframes of the house and finishing the garage doors, and mowing the lawn after picking up all the crap that was trimmed from the bushes when the painting was done. The house looks a lot better now! Inside, I have to vacuum and move furniture (still), and do some other general cleaning. Adventure! Excitement!

Not really.

In CoH news I got my villain on Pinnacle to 35 tonight, the goal being to get her to L50 before Halloween. I should be able to do that, especially if I get in some good teams. :)

In terms of the Sunday Game writeup, I've not been in the mood to write of late, but I will have it done before the next run, which is a week from Sunday.

Other than that, life continues in its path... Oh. Thats right. I also have two birthday gifts to arrange... And I'm a wee bit scant financially. So, they'll be late. One is ALREADY late. Bleh. But I'll get 'em!
realsorien: (Default)
As I said, I've got it done. I thought this would take til Friday!

Another starting note for the writeup: we've a new player (Ben) in the group, and this created a very different start for the run. Normally, we begin with a recap of the last run to refresh everyone as to what had gone before. THis time, we dove right in without the refresher, as Ben's character wouldn't have ANY idea what he was getting into! So right off I'm kinda rushed as I scramble to keep up with my notes!

Its all good though, and so now we return to the crew of the Ardith's Silhouette!

Its done!

Okay, before we get back into the tales of the crew of the Ardith's Silhouette, I have to mention this- between runs there was a bit of a disconnect, so there is a kind-of overlap in the events- the last run ended at the Psi Institute, the crew just having talked with Doctor Lanyier on several matters. In the next run, we started up back at the landing of the Silhouette after the joyride! So, At the start of this writeup I'm going to have to construct a suitable interfacing between the two- I'll not be inventing off the cuff, just trying to make a proper 'dovetail' between them. After all, both events were played out.

Traveller 7- Preconcieved Conceptions )

Amazingly enough, I DID get it done last night. So here it is!

Edit- I fixed some of the things Scotty mentioned. Not all tho- need more info!
