Thursday!

Thursday is the usual "Furry Night Dinner" gathering. I was planning on attending, and left [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain and [livejournal.com profile] foeclan an email with a suggestion in the morning, then crashed. I finally woke up around 3 or so (at the time I thought it was significantly later) with a killer headache. I got up, and sent out an email suggesting Big 10 or Smashburger (a new burger place nearby), but warned that I might not be going due to the headache.

In the end it cleared enough that I went, and [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain treated me to a belated birthday dinner at Big 10. I need to eat there more often I think. :) Thanks for the meal!

After, we ran over to Best Buy, where I spent the money I'd held onto (birthday cash from the folks) on a pair of CD's- They Might Be Giants- Flood (to replace the one that vanooshed with a bunch of others a few years ago) and The Pogues- Love & Peace.

After that, I went home, and ended up playing City of Heroes (Villainside) til about 20 minutes ago. Wolf John is now level 42. Rrargh. ;)

If I don't have another headache, the mowing will happen tonight. If I do, I'll get it tomorrow, or later tonight after I get it under control.

This weekend is the Sunday Group, and the next installment of the 7th Sea game! All hell's about to break loose with vanishing loot and flying poop- literally!

Last night I made a roast and had [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain and [livejournal.com profile] feezlekahn over to share it- I'd invited [livejournal.com profile] foeclan as well, but he had other plans. His loss. Anyway, I think it came out pretty good, though I'm going to adjust the cooking time a bit- Having it a bit rarer wouldn't be a bad thing. Afterwards, I dozed a while, then played City of Heroes with [livejournal.com profile] zxizaraxii And [livejournal.com profile] auroraniteshade til... 5 AM or so. We were villainside, and did the entire Johnny Sonata arc plus some radio missions- I was playing Wolf John. Fancy that, me playing a male. ;)

Thence, I slept like the proverbial rock til 2 PM.

Tonight, I didn't have any real plans, but a bit ago [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain called about going to Applebee's. As all I was doing was dozing in my chair, I said I'd go and went to clean up. After that,[livejournal.com profile] zxizaraxii called them back, pushing it back an hour so [livejournal.com profile] mirrdae could come as well. So, That'll be tonight. Prolly more City of Heroes after.

Tomorrow is... LAUNDRY DAY. (discordant fright sting here)

Today...

I was going to go to Uncle Hugo's bookstore, but it closed at 5 PM. Which is when I usually get up. So instead, with [livejournal.com profile] foeclan and [livejournal.com profile] feezlekahn I hit the Roseville Half-Price Books and Barnes & Noble. Therein I spent WAY too much money. At Half-Price I got three Dashiel Hammett novels (The Thin Man, The Glass Key and Red Harvest), Dragons of the Cuyohoga by S. Andrew Swann and a DVD I've been looking for: Varan the Unbelievable, one of Toho's lesser-known giant rubber critters, directed by Inushiro Honda. Yay!

At Barnes & Noble, I got Regenesis by C.J. Cherryh, which is the latest of the Alliance/Union/Compact Universe, and the Watchmen graphic novel, which I've read (LONG ago) but never owned. Thereafter, I was feeling peckish and suggested food; [livejournal.com profile] foeclan initially demurred, but when [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain called him plans were quickly made to meet at Old Chicago, which was kinda right there. Dinner was good, and now I'm home somewhat poorer but with a lot of stuff to read. :)

Today I went out to eat at Keys Cafe with [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain, [livejournal.com profile] khirsahdrgn, [livejournal.com profile] foeclan, [livejournal.com profile] mirrdae and [livejournal.com profile] feezlekahn. It was a nice meal, and I for once ordered a bit more than I wanted. Oh well. Discussions were had about a movie party, with [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain wanting to start immediately, and myself wanting to wait til later so that I could grab a nap and see if [livejournal.com profile] ataramos and [livejournal.com profile] zxizaraxii, who were asleep, would want to come.

So, Mirr and Khir dropped me off at home, while they and the rest went over to the other house to start. They're watching Hellboy 2 first, which I've seen and own. When I finally get over there they'll be putting in Hancock and any of a number of other choices (Wall-E, the most recent Hulk film, and the most recent Jackie Chan flick that at the moment I can't recall the title of).

Now for the roller coaster bit. As people who've followed my LJ know, I refinanced the house just before Midwest Furfest to consolidate debt and improve my financial situation. Part of this was that they would be paying off my debts. They INSISTED on having control of this. That's fine. For the last week I've been getting calls from Discover, asking for a payment. They've not received a dime yet. I've checked- the right amount went to my checking account (Just over $2400), and all the other credit debts were paid, save for small amounts which I dealt with today.

So where is the payment to Discover? I've no idea. I ended up paying the minimum amount to Discover to shut them the hell up and stop then from calling, and called Countrywide and the title company. They're both out of the office for the holiday.

Joy.

So I get to raise hell Monday to get this shit resolved. And as a real capper, for the THIRD TIME IN A ROW my paycheck was shorted. I fully expect the NEXT to be shorted too. I get to bitch at people about THAT on Monday too.

I want off the fucking ride. I'm getting sick. :P

So much for a nap, too.

Well, my eyes eem about the same, and I'll have two new pairs of glasses sometime before the 26th. Yay! I also have the money, or most of it, for MFF too. So things proceed apace. A little while ago I got back from dinner with [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain, [livejournal.com profile] foeclan and [livejournal.com profile] feezlekahn at Sarna's. Nice little place, I just had the burger and a Fat Tire (its a beer!). It was a nice meal and a nice conversation, and now I'm on City of Villains playing Endure again. She's now Level 47!

I had MEAT today for a late birthday gift! [livejournal.com profile] foeclan, [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain, [livejournal.com profile] feezlekhan and I went out, originally headed to my favorite resturant, the Black Forest Inn; however, it was closed for Memorial day, so a second location was picked: Fogo De Chao, which is a Brazillian steak house. Check it out at www.fogodechao.com ! Anyway, we had Meat. MEAT. MEAT! And it was good. The best resturant that I'll never be able to afford myself. ;)

I also received the movie 'Night Watch' from Joshuwain- Great movie. :) Thanks guys!

MEEEEEAAAAT!

Today I had my appointment with the allergist, and it went pretty much as predicted- I'm on a 1 week course of Prednisone, and I'm still on the theraputic inhaler- Qvar, to be specific. Hopefully, the Asthma will lay the fuck off soon. However, I'm also getting yet another cold. I started feeling it when I got up. Bleah.

On the way home from the appointment, I decided that I wanted to go out. I've been a total homebody recently, and I needed to, even if it was just to a restaurant. So, I gathered [livejournal.com profile] ataramos and [livejournal.com profile] khirsahdrgn, and went to the Steak Knife, a little place on the U of M campus in the area called Dinkytown. Yay Steak! They had a nice beer there that I'd not had before- Iron Range Lager. Nice. Perfect for steak.

I had an 18 oz. T-bone, Ata had the New York Strip, and Khir had the Strip Steak special. Good stuff. I have to try to do this more frequently... Even tho finances generally prevents. I tried to get [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain, [livejournal.com profile] foeclan and [livejournal.com profile] feezlekhan to come, but the first was low on cash, the second, stuck at work and the third had left home and was in transit-limbo. O well.

I decided to take [livejournal.com profile] ataramos out tonight as a bit of a cheer-up after [livejournal.com profile] ophieness went back to the hell that is California...

Keegan's rocks. Live music with no cover, good food, and the atmosphere is friendly and at a volume that I can tolerate. We're thinking of going each Monday night now.

To the Vanguard gamers- how about after the run we adjourn to Keegans for a drink and a snack? I don't have to work that night, for once. :)
